Ahead of Rugby League World Cup 2013 this October, we held a competition for one lucky child to design the match day programme of England Rugby League's first international fixture - England v Exiles, which is taking place on Friday 14th June 2013.

Staged at the ground of the Warrington Wolves at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, the match itself is set to be fierce as it'll be the showdown against the cream of Super League's southern hemisphere talent.

The closing date for this competition was 7th June 2013 and to ensure the programme satisfied the key decision maker in the England camp, we asked Mr Steve McNamara who coaches our England RL squad to help us choose the winner.

After lots of deliberating as all of the entries were world class, we are pleased to announce that Kelsey Hazlehurst from Christ Church CofE Primary, Padgate, Warrington was chosen.

"Kelsey's programme showed a great sense of patriotism with our St Georges flag and official shirt on there. That combined with all the details for the game looked like a worthy winner to me," said McNamara.

To reward Kelsey for her winning entry, we surprised her at her school during her normal assembly on Tuesday 11th June. Trent Waterhouse and Joel Monaghan, two of the players named for the Exiles squad made a special effort to visit along with England RL mascot George. Kelsey was presented with her winning entry and 4 tickets to the game.

As a special treat, Steve McNamara has arranged for Kelsey and her family to have an exclusive behind the scenes tour of the player's dressing rooms before the game plus she'll have her efforts rewarded on the pitch pre-match and receive a signed progamme from McNamara himself.

As a thank you to all those who entered, we'll be proudly displaying all of the entries in the Halliwell Jones Stadium, North Stand Concourse so be sure to be there to see your design.

Make sure you download the resources and upload your classes work to take advantage of the remarkable opportunities we can offer you and your school ahead of and during the Rugby League World Cup 2013.
